A Space Built by and for Young People

Young people around the world are already responding to the climate crisis. They organise within their communities, develop new solutions, conduct research, influence political debates and advocate for a fairer future.

Yet their perspectives are still too often missing from the places where major decisions are made.

The Children and Youth Pavilion was created to help change that. It provides a welcoming space at the UN Climate Change Conference where young people can come together, share their experiences and connect with others working towards similar goals.

The Pavilion hosts conversations, workshops, performances and creative formats covering a wide range of topics. Some sessions explore international climate policy, while others focus on local action, mental health, education, culture or the everyday realities of communities affected by climate change.

What connects them is the belief that young people should be able to shape the conversations and decisions that affect their future.

The Pavilion also creates opportunities for new relationships. A conversation between two participants can become a collaboration, a campaign or an idea that continues long after the conference has ended.

At its heart, the Children and Youth Pavilion is a meeting place: a space to speak, listen, learn and imagine what meaningful climate action can look like.
